Prof. Gong Yang received his Ph.D. degree from Institute of Microbiology of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2001. He completed his postdoctoral training in Rice University-Howard Hughes Medical Institute and University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center from 2001 to 2005. Then he worked in the department of Pathology of University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center as an instructor and assistant professor in 2005 and 2008 respectively. Now Prof. Yang is a PI of Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center/Cancer Institute, Distinguished Professor of The Fifth People’s Hospital of Shanghai, Fudan University, China. He has published more than 70 SCI papers including Nature Communications,Molecular Cancer, JNCI, PNAS, Clin Cancer Res, Theranotics、Molecular Therapy, J BiolChem, Cancer Res, Oncogene, Cancer letter、European Journal of Cancer、International Journal of Cancer and so on. Currently he is an editorial board member for 6 international journals. He has hosted several scientific research projects, such as National Natural Science Foundation (5 projects), Doctoral Fund of Ministry of Education of China (1 project), Shanghai Pujiang Talent (1 project), Shanghai Municipal Health Bureau (2 projects) and so on.
Research Focus: 1. Mechanisms of cancer recurrence and metastasis promoted by cytokines and their receptors in tumor microenvironment; 2. Construction and analysis of immortalized and transformed cells and animal models; 3. Mesenchymal cell senescence and epithelial cell malignant transformation; 4. Relationship between the mutations of RAS/p53 related genes and apoptosis, senescence, EMT, autophagy; 5. Screening and development of tumor targeting drugs; 6. Mechanisms of DNA damage repair on cancer radio- and chemoresistance and cancer stem cell regulation.
